Hey all, I'm sure for some of you, this is a familiar picture. This is Natalie Portman dressed as Padme Amidala from Star Wars. The costume designer was John Mollo. He is awesome! look at the intense detail!
For this post I just want to talk about amazingly talented movie costume designers. In a way, they're a lot like fashion designers in that they need to pay close attention to detail. Although some movie costumes are not suitable for everyday use, it takes a lot to create a certain look for a character. I often feel that costume designers are completely over looked. So, I'd just like to take this time to admire and appreciate their hard work!
These next few photos are stills/photos of costumes from The Lord of the Rings designed by Ngila Dickson. Most of the materials she used for these dresses were fine materials like 100% silk, velvet, and many others. Yes, these costumes are super old school, but these are totally awesome!
That's all I have for this week! I hope you enjoyed it.
XOXO, Annie
